Part 1: Flagship Integral Wisdom Publications
Integral Spirituality: A Startling New Role for Religion in the Modern and Postmodern World (Ken Wilber) – PUBLISHED – NOV. 2007
Ken Wilber’s Integral Spirituality is being widely called the most important book on spirituality in our time. Published in 2007 by Integral Books, it is not a Center for World Spirituality think tank publication per se, but it is a cornerstone of the work at CWS, providing the broad principles and essential elements of the Integral framework within which World Spirituality is situated.
Applying his highly acclaimed integral approach, Ken Wilber formulates a theory of spirituality that honors the truths of modernity and postmodernity — including the revolutions in science and culture — while incorporating the essential insights of the great religions. He shows how spirituality today combines the enlightenment of the East, which excels at cultivating higher states of consciousness, with the enlightenment of the West, which offers developmental and psychodynamic psychology. Each contributes key components to a more integral spirituality. On the basis of this integral framework, a radically new role for the world’s religions is proposed. Because these religions have such a tremendous influence on the worldview of the majority of the earth’s population, they are in a privileged position to address some of the biggest conflicts we face. By adopting a more integral view, the great religions can act as facilitators of human development: from magic to mythic to rational to pluralistic to integral—and to a global society that honors and includes all the stations of life along the way.
A Return to Eros: The Radical Experience of Being Fully Alive – by Dr. Marc Gafni and Dr. Kristina Kincaid
This book has been the response of our think tank not only to the smear campaign against Marc Gafni but also to almost every major problem we are facing on planet earth right now. If we as humanity want to make it through the second shock of existence and for the first time ever create a truly humane civilization that deserves its name and really thrive, we need to Return to Eros!!!
Discover the secret relationship between Erotic, the Sexual and the Sacred.
None of the four old philosophies about sex are sufficient to inspire us or even hold us in our sexuality. Sex is not merely negative or positive. Sex is not just neutral, nor is it merely sacred because it creates babies.
Erotic Mystics from the hidden tradition of Solomon’s temple taught a secret doctrine. Sex is the source of all wisdom. Sex is an expression of the erotic impulse of existence itself alive in us-the yearning for contact, pleasure, and aliveness. The Sexual however is not the sum total of the erotic. Rather, the sexual models the Erotic. The sexual teaches us how to live an Erotic life in all dimension of our existence.
It is these secret doctrines that were later taught by Mary Magdalene and that sparked excitement around bestselling novels such as The Da Vinci Code.
Deep understanding of the sexual becomes the portal to accessing aliveness in every dimension of our reality. This realization demands that you live sexually without shame and shows you how to re-eroticize all areas of your life.
A Return to Eros: On Sex, Love, and Eroticism in Every Dimension of Life, from Drs. Marc Gafni and Kristina Kincaid, reveals the radical secret tenets of relationship between the sexual, the erotic, and the holy. They reveal what Eros actually means and share the ten core qualities of the Erotic, which are modeled by the sexual. These include being on the inside, fullness of presence, yearning, allurement, fantasy, surrender, creativity, pleasure, and more.
A Return to Eros shows why these qualities of the erotic modeled by the sexual are actually the same core qualities of the sacred. The relationship between the sexual and the erotic becomes clear, teaching you how to live an erotically suffused existence charged with purpose, potency and power.
To be an Outrageous Lover–not just in sex but also in all facets of your life–you must listen deeply to the simple yet elegant whisperings of the sexual. This book will forever transform your understanding and experience of love, sex, and Eros.
Your Unique Self: The Radical Path to Personal Enlightenment (Marc Gafni) – PUBLISHED – July. 2012
According to the leading voices in the field of contemporary spirituality this long awaited volume, published by Integral Publishers in September 2012, “changes the game.” Unique Self changes the game both in terms of our understanding of what enlightenment means and why it matters and even more importantly, in terms of our understanding of the self and its relationship to the larger contexts of life and relationship. The evolutionary emergent of Unique Self is both a new chapter in Integral theory as well as a powerful evolution of the very idea and experience of enlightenment. Unique Self enlightenment is the emergence of the personal beyond the impersonal, self beyond ego. It is the manifestation of personal individuation beyond ego. The implications of this revolutionary and evolutionary teaching for enlightenment, evolutionary spirituality, shadow work, love, sexuality, parenting, education, politics, relationship, evolutionary we-space and much more are brilliantly and beautifully evoked in this ground breaking volume.
Radical Kabbalah, Book 1: Enlightenment Teaching of Unique Self, Non-dual Humanism and the Wisdom of Solomon: Great Teaching of Ethics and Eros from Mordechai Lainer of Izbica (Marc Gafni) – PUBLISHED – Aug. 2012
Marc Gafni’s two-volume academic treatise on Radical Kabbalah lays the groundwork for key dimensions of the Unique Self teaching. Compared by Prof. Richard Mann with the work of Elaine Pages on the Gnostic gospels, called “magesterial” by Sally Kempton, and described by Zack Stein as a work that comes around “once in a generation,” Gafni introduces in this work the enlightenment teaching of what he terms non-dual humanism. Based on a deep re-reading of over a thousand Aramaic and Hebrew texts, Gafni first outlines the core teaching and then traces the esoteric intellectual history of non-dual humanism in five major matrices of the Kabbalah In the vision of non-dual humanism the potential democratization of enlightenment opens up as a genuine option in which every human being is called to lives lived “as Source.” Sean Esbjorn Hargens cited this work as a classic example of what leading scholar Jeffery Kripal calls Mystical Hermenutics in which the scholar practitioner brings his full Eros and love into unlocking and evolving vital lineage sources and sharing them with the world.
Radical Kabbalah, Book 2: The Wisdom of Solomon as the Matrix of the Enlightenment Teaching of Non-dual Acosmic Humanism and Unique Self (Marc Gafni) – PUBLISHED – Aug. 2012
In the second volume in the Radical Kabbalah set, Marc Gafni cracks an esoteric code deep within the Kabbalistic tradition which identifies “wisdom of Solomon” as being the source of the teaching of non-dual humanism. Gafni then shows that this teaching of the wisdom of Solomon, i.e. non-dual humanism, did not originate with Mordechai Lainer of Izbica. Rather it has deep roots in earlier Zoharic and Lurianic te – xts all of whom received and transmitted the non-dual humanism teaching of the wisdom of Solomon. Nevertheless, it remained to Mordechai Lainer of Izbica to fully explicate and evolve the radically empowering implication of this ancient teaching. In this volume Gafni carefully and rigorously uncovers the hidden teaching of the wisdom of solomon as they appear in encoded within hasdic writings waiting to be discovered.
The Journal of Integral Theory & Practice (6:1) – PUBLISHED – 2011
The Journal of Integral Theory and Practice (JITP), the official source for material related to Integral Theory and its application, devoted an entire issue to Unique Self. In this issue, Marc is the guest editor and writes two core articles on Unique Self, one emergent from Mordechai Lainer, and the other on the core Unique Self teaching, which are a cornerstone for World Spirituality teaching. Included in these articles is one by Zak Stein, which compares Gafni’s Unique Self teaching with Andrew Cohen’s Authentic Self teaching.
Loving Your Way to Enlightenment (Marc Gafni with Chahat Corten)
When I met Marc Gafni in November 2011 at Venwoude a new layer of love opened up within me. What I soon came to realize, was that Marc Gafni is a postmodern teacher of ancient wisdom, whose devotion, wisdom, love, humor, brilliance and unique intimate way of transmitting wisdom from ancient sacred texts allows for a most uncommon accessibility of the deep wisdom embedded in these texts. For me, as a living, breathing western soul, these revelations are already in my knowing, in my roots and DNA, only awaiting to be expressed. It is hard to describe the ecstatic joy and recognition that bursts from me when Marc teaches. The book, Loving your way to Enlightenment, are the edited transcripts of the first two years of teaching. Marc Gafni is still deepening and unfolding this Dharma on Loving your Way to Enlightenment as a new Spiritual Path in many ways! I am deeply appreciative of the ways in which Dr. Marc Gafni and his inspiring teachings on Evolutionary Love, Unique Self, Outrageous Love and Outrageous Pain, have also brought Venwoude to a new phase of unfolding, in full alignment with Venwoude’s tradition of renewal, allowing for this great experiment to remain alive and kicking.
Tears: Reclaiming Ritual, Integral Religion and Rosh Hashanah (Marc Gafni) – PUBLISHED 2014
Marc Gafni’s poignant and evocative volume invites the reader into a radical paradigm shift in understanding religion and ritual. It takes as its case study the Jewish holy day of Rosh Hashanah, the Hebrew New Year celebration. Gafni then re-reads the entire corpus of liturgical literature on the New Year and reveals a key hidden theme – crying. Specifically Gafni identifies twelve major forms of tears and the archetypes that enact these forms of crying. Gafni’s role as a leading voice in the evolution of Judaism is fully crystallized in this volume. He lives and breathes the sacred texts, imbued by and transmitting their energy even as deploys the ecstatic scholarship of the master, reverentially yet boldly evolving their meaning.
Self in Integral Evolutionary Mysticism: Two Models and Why They Matter (Marc Gafni)
Two major works have been written within the framework of Integral Wisdom about the nature of Self and God. While they share important features, namely the evolutionary context of the conversation and a vision of Self beyond Ego, their interior visions of the quality of the Self beyond Ego are profoundly different. Both of these visions of Self-or key dimensions of the two versions-have been adopted, directly and indirectly by many spiritual teachers. In this clear and compelling work Marc Gafni articulates the two models, their shared features, their differences and why-as we seek to articulate an Integral Wisdom-these differences matter so desperately.
Your Unique Self: An Integral Path to Success 3.0
Special Edition by Marc Gafni & Kate Maloney.
In order to genuinely move beyond ego, beyond the false self-or even more precisely, beyond exclusive identification with ego-you need authentic and sustained contact with the transcendent, with the intention of facilitating your own evolution. You also need rigorous and unflinching self-inquiry, which includes some process of sustained shadow work. Prayer, chanting, contemplative study, and meditation are part of the path. In my early years, as for many young teachers, they were my entire path. But beware of parts pretending to be wholes. These paths may not be enough for you. They were not enough for me.
Beyond Mars and Venus: Relationship Skills for Today’s Complex World – by John Gray
The author of the most well-known and trusted relationship book of all time returns with an updated guide for today’s generation.
Two decades ago, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus revolutionized the way we thought about love and partnership. John Gray’s work has helped countless readers improve and even save their relationships. But as society evolves, relationships do, too. It’s time to move beyond Mars and Venus, toward a new relationship model for modern couples.
Today, men and women are no longer trapped by rigid societal roles. Now more than ever, we have the freedom to be our authentic selves. Women can access their masculine side, and men can embrace their feminine side. This new freedom is a good thing, but it also brings new challenges.
Men and women still need the right tools and skills to help build stronger relation- ships. While previous generations sought “role mate” relationships, based on the more rigid gender roles of the time, today’s couples need a new kind of relationship: a “soul mate” relationship. These more emotionally satisfying relationships require a deeper understanding of our partners’ individual needs. In Beyond Mars and Venus, Gray teaches you how to strengthen your bond and grow in love together, so you and your loved one can meet each other’s needs in the best way possible, bringing you lasting happiness and a fulfilling partnership.
John Gray is also on the board of our think tank. This book has been developed in close relationship with CIW President Marc Gafni and Board Member Warren Farrell.
The Boy Crisis: Why Our Boys Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It – by Warren Farrell
What is the boy crisis?
It?s a crisis of education.
For the first time in American history, our sons will have less education than their dads.
It’s a crisis of mental health.
As boys become young men, their suicide rates go from equal to girls to six times that of young women.
It’s a crisis of sexuality.
Sex is a minefield for our sons. They’re bombarded with mixed messages, afraid of being either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.
It’s a crisis of fathering.
Boys with less-involved fathers are more likely to drop out of school, drink, do drugs, become delinquent, and end up in prison.
It’s a crisis of purpose.
Boys’ old senses of purposes, being a warrior, a leader, or a sole breadwinner, are fading. Many bright boys are experiencing a “purpose void,” feeling alienated, withdrawn and addicted to immediate gratification. Compounding this issue are addicting video games that lead to distraction and ADHD.
So, what is The Boy Crisis?
A comprehensive blueprint for what parents, teachers and policy-makers can do to renew our sons’ sense of purpose to help them become men, fathers, and leaders worthy of our respect.
Warren Farrell is also on the board of our think tank. This book has been developed in close relationship with CIW President Marc Gafni.
Evolving Christianity: Life After Faith Crisis – by Rev. Samuel Alexander
The bulk of western society in stranded in a vast spiritual wasteland. That’s not too surprising the, (albeit necessary) deconstruction of traditional faith The modernist deconstruction of traditional religion, while needed, has had a profound impact. I write not to deny that, but to say one thing: We need not fear that wasteland because there is a rich landscape of spiritual life on the other side. Belief in an interventionist God is not required in order to lay hold of a rich, transformative Christian faith, one that is faithful to the Scriptures, proclaims a God of grace transforming all our lives, and is most certainly a gospel worth sharing. “God is love,” the scriptures say. I am among those who believe that love is the creative impulse animating creation’s evolutionary story. Everything evolves; we are not living separate from the power of that love. No, we are One and so we are sourced, empowered, inspired, even obligated to live into our own unique role. That is our destiny; that is our purpose. We are not static false selves destined to remain the same— dismal, broken, forever and ever, amen. No, we are destined to become unique creatures who reflect the reality of God’s love in a new life. An evolutionary Christianity is realistic about the enormity of that task, but hopeful too, because it recognizes the power of creation unfolding within us, driving transformative change. We will discover that the scriptures themselves reveal that the creative power of love does not so much act upon us as it is expressed through us. This is the Gospel now proclaimed beyond the modernist deconstruction.
Love Beyond Imagination: Writing Outrageous Love Letters (Pauline Botden)
This book is a joyous reflection of an invitation given to me by Dr. Marc Gafni, brilliant teacher of Unique Self Enlightenment, to write Outrageous Love Letters. For 3 years now this is my daily practice. Writing Love Letters and writing them Outrageously opened my heart in a way I could have never imagined. It transformed my ability to find Love even in the very painful situations of life. This book contains both my experiences and a selection of the Outrageous Love Letters I wrote. I wrote it to invite you to join me in this practice.
A Series of Outrageous Love letter books published by a number of leading practitioners who have extensively engaged the process of writing OLL.
Humanity’s Second Shock and Your Unique Self (Mauk Pieper; foreword by Paul de Blot; afterword by Dr. Marc Gafni)
Every human being meets with pain in his or her life. When we discover this, it shatters our expectations. Our main reaction to this ‘First Shock’ is avoidance. In our collective life, this avoidance represents the consciousness of the Separate Self or ego. In trying to impose its will on the unfolding of life, this Separate Self makes things worse rather than better. It may end up destroying the life that has been given to us as human beings, as well as life on Earth in general. Our waking up to this dilemma is what Mauk Pieper calls our ‘Second Shock’. This book urges us to ‘rethink’ the evolution of our consciousness and offers a glimpse of a new, emerging level of consciousness that is able to process this Second Shock, giving rise to ‘realistic hope’ for a better world that is in alignment with the evolutionary impulse.
Metrics of Consciousness (Richard Barrett; Foreword by Zak Stein & Marc Gafni)
This book explores the new thought emerging from Richard Barrett’s paper on the Metrics of Human Consciousness. This book contributes to the goal of developing some form of “Unique Self metrics”, a topic that Richard, Zak Stein, and Marc Gafni have discussed in separate dyads intermittently over the last two years.
Part 2: Future Books of Center for Integral Wisdom
Each of the following books is being written within the context of the think tank—over the next decade or more. The thought leaders listed on the cover of the book are working on the book in conjunction with the scholars of the CIW think tank.
Sometimes the mentioned authors and/or CIW leadership will write an introductory essay. At other times we will help guide the research but be among the writers of the book. Other books will be more formally co-authored. In still other cases, CIW scholars will actually write the first drafts of the book. The right relationship for each project will emerge appropriately on a project by project basis.
Dr. Marc Gafni is involved at different levels in many of these projects, ranging from being the lead author, co-author, or at times simply writing an introduction to frame the topic in terms of the larger world spirituality conversation. Several of the projects are about World Spirituality or Dr. Gafni’s teachings.
Becoming the New Human: Awakening as Conscious Evolution, Unique Self and Unique Self Symphony
Barbara Marx Hubbard & Marc Gafni
This book is intended as invitation to become the New Human. To become the New Human we must recognize him and her. We must evoke her image and imagine his countenance. Every core crisis that we face is at its root not a crisis of resources but a crisis of imagination. Neuroscience tells us that how we act and react is always based on memories of things past. Every new situation is fit into old patterns and structures. Recovery from trauma is often based on recovering the memory of the past. However to reclaim imagination we must recover a memory of the future. That is what this book is about. It is a response to the crisis of imagination of our time by evoking a memory of the future.
It will be woven from three distinct strands. The Unique Self and Unique Self symphony teachings of Marc Gafni and the Conscious Evolution teachings of Barbara Marx Hubbard. Bringing these two together synergizes a whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts. We will evoke an image of the new human as the awakened evolutionary impulse. The new human lives the most personal and intimate life within the most universal and global context. We will see how the new human envisions relationships, Eros, politics, sexuality, the joining of genius, suprasexuality, pleasure and obligation. For each of these core topics we will evoke a memory of the future emergent from these two interwoven maps of Unique Self symphony and Conscious Evolution.
However one cannot evoke the new human without becoming the new human we. In this book we will share our journey towards becoming the New Human. We will do in the form of question and answer dialogue between us on all of the aforementioned topics. The core map and future memory will thus be evoked and transmitted in the book style of works like Power of the Now. This writing will then be interwoven with personal accounting, accountability and sacred autobiography, that is to say, the process of Becoming a New Human that the authors have experienced and or experiencing themselves.

Towards a New Politics Of Evolutionary Love: Unique Self Symphonies, The Democratization of Enlightenment, and Other Social Miracles
Marc Gafni & Zak Stein
Humanity is on the verge of a self-inflicted extinction. Awareness of this fact has been reverberating through culture for about 30 years (maybe as much as 60). What is to be done? Most are looking for techno-scientific and economic solutions; we argue that these are important, but that the problem is more fundamentally educational—we are in the midst of a species-wide identify crisis, requiring a revolution of consciousness, not just of techno-economic arrangements.
On the one hand there are the techno-economic optimists who see a future in which our current techno-economic systems are salvaged, re-designed, and made increasingly scientific, efficient, and profitable; we will avert disaster by creating a hyper-scientific, human controlled Heaven on Earth.
Then there are the techno-economic pessimists who see these very attempts at continued scientific control and economic growth as the problem, sensing that the technologically wrought future they yield will give us more of what we’ve already had for nearly a century: a system that decimates communities and ecosystems, and that will eventually degrade the Earth until the biosphere is simply unable to sustain life.
Importantly, both pessimists and optimists focus on external systems, processes, resources, technologies, and economies. When they speak of crises they refer to broken or scarce things (broken ecosystems, unhealthy food, toxic air, failing schools, etc.). When they speak of innovation, they mean the creation of new and better things (healthy forests, organic food, new energy technologies, fresh air, good schools, etc.). The future is in the balance for both camps, no doubt, but they both set their focus mainly on the impacts of science, with a focus on sustainability and the physical continuity of life as we know it.
The book argues we need to take a fundamentally different approach when thinking about the current global situation. We need to focus on interiors, on consciousness, on moral crises and crises of self-understanding, crises in which hope and faith are the scarce resources; with mindsets, capacities, and worldviews in need of reform and redesign. The book clarifies the need for innovations toward new and better action-orienting worldviews, conceptual frameworks, and especially, a re-invention of the human sense of self. Humans need a new sense of what it means to be human. Integral Meta-theory provides an orientation, culminating in a theory of self—Unique Self Theory—that integrates Enlightenment as defined by the great wisdom traditions, with modern ideals of autonomy, democracy, and inviolable individual dignity… this new sense of self lays the ground work for “a new politics of outrageous love.”

Outrageous Love: The Path and Practice of Outrageous Love Letters
By Marc Gafni, Kristina Kincaid & Claire Molinard
The project is being brilliantly unfolded by Kristina Kincaid, director of the Outrageous Love Project.
The book will appear in two forms. The first is a popular mainstream form which is focused on the practice of writing Outrageous Love Letters. This book is similar in form to the Artists way. The second version of book is written in the Unique Self style or the style of Michael Beckwith’s book Spiritual Liberation. It is a deep dharmic dive -written in accessible style. It is based on the ten laws of outrageous love. This book is under contract at the Folio Literary agency.
Ordinary love is either a sentiment or a strategy of the ego to attain comfort and security. It is reactive and limited. Outrageous love what Bengali poet Tagore described as not mere sentiment or strategy but the heart of existence itself. It is what Dante referred to when he talked about the love that moves the sun and the stars. It is what philosopher Alfred North Whitehead alluded to when he said that evolution is gentle and not so gentle movement towards God by gentle and not so gentle persuasion of love.
The outrageous love manifesto is the best approximation that we have today of the inner nature of reality. One of the greatest developments in science in the last hundred years is the realization that the Universe is not just a time and a place. The universe is not static. The great realization of the evolutionary world view –already foreshadowed in some of the evolutionary mystics in the great traditions—is that the universe is going somewhere. And that when we wake up from unconscious to conscious evolution we are the unique agents who chart its direction.
Evolution viewed from the outside is the movement from simplicity to higher and higher levels of complexity. Viewed from the inside, the trajectory of evolution no less than the evolution of consciousness. Every dimension of reality has an inside and an outside, an interior and an exterior. Love is an interior emotion. The outside of love is the release of serotonin, dopamine and other neurochemicals in the brain. The exterior of evolution is greater and greater complexity. A dog is more complex than an amoeba. The interior of evolution is greater and greater consciousness. A dog is more conscious then an amoeba. The inside of consciousness is love. A dog is more loving than an amoeba. Love fully wakes in human beings at the leading edge. Human beings who have evolved from narrow ego centric love, felt love and care for themselves their survival clan to ethnocentric love, felt love and care for their larger community or people, to worldcentric love, felt love and care for every human being, and ultimately cosmocentric love, love and care for all of reality. But it is not just a generic love that awakens. Each human being is irreducibly unique both from an exterior and interior perspective. Every human being has unique atomic and cellular signature. An utterly unique immune system, an irreducibly unique and infinitely elegant and complex dance of a hundred trillion cells in unique complementarity, unlike any other that ever was, is or will be. Each human being has an irreducibly unique interior, a unique incarnation of the very same outrageous love intelligence that initiated and animates all that is.
What we will call in these pages, the awakening to outrageous love, is the realization that you are not only a spectator but an irreducibly unique actor in the great drama of the universe. Evolutions awakens as you and through you. You are ultimately needed by all that is. No one else can do IT-whatever IT is for you –other than you. And IT desperately needs to be done if we are to live in a world of love.
The invitation is to awaken as an outrageous lover and to commit outrageous acts of love. To awaken as an outrageous lover is to awaken as the irreducibly unique incarnation of the love intelligence and love beauty of all that is living in you, as you and through you, Your Unique Self. You awaken as within the overall operating system of reality. The overall operating system are the interior laws of outrageous love that govern the universe and explain how you interface, align and incarnate those core principles of reality.
The Ten Laws of Outrageous Love
By Marc Gafni, Kristina Kincaid & Claire Molinard
God Is Eros
Marc Gafni and Kristina Kincaid.
Beginning with Creation and the Big Bang that manifested our Universe, the reality of the cosmos has been and is Eros. In every moment, the moment, the situation, the idea, the encounter, the reality is either Loved Open to God, or you are Loved Open by it. Or, both you and reality remain closed. We either received the Divine Eros or Love the Moment Open to God. If we open and the moment opens then we are radiant, alive, filled with Eros and incarnating Ethos. If either we or the moment remain closed, then we are alienated, deadened and alone. Eros shrivels up and therefore Ethos fails. The essence of reality is Eros. God is not merely Oneness. God Is—in manifest form—Eros. God is Eros.

It provides accessible practices and rituals for guiding a World Spirituality practice in each of these dimensions. The book addresses both individual and We-space practice.
Tenets of Intimacy
with Marc Gafni & Tom Goddard
The Pleasure Bible (Marc Gafni and Kamala Devi)
This book expands our understanding of pleasure beyond the hedonic into the realm of the ethical on individual and collective levels. This book offers a new phenomenological map for World Spirituality practice based on a precise unpacking of (a) the nature of pleasure, (b) twenty principles of pleasure, and (c) six levels of pleasure, and their complex interrelationships.
This self-contained map, based on core World Spirituality integral principles, is a complete life’s vision which both clarifies the nature of reality and offers powerful guidance for individuals pursuing a trans-spiritual path and those in the process of meaning-making and life direction.
The book identifies ten primary voices of pleasure which live in our cultural space, showing how each voice entertains a different hermeneutic of pleasure which yields different life decisions. For example, in outlining principles of pleasure, it makes distinctions between pleasure and comfort and identifies the internal mechanics of how pleasure is attainable, lost, and how it informs our lives.
Finally, the book unpacks the intimate relationship between the inability to derive normal pleasure in most forms of addiction, depression, and anxiety, advancing our understanding of mental health from a spiritual perspective.

Unique Self Recovery (with Lori Galperin)
This project consists of four distinct parts: one, Board Member and Director of the Unique Self Recovery project Lori Galperin and her team are developing Unique Self therapeutic models based on Unique Self and other dimensions of World Spirituality.
These models will provide an advanced system of personal development that is specifically designed for those in recovery, which awakens and enlivens all parts of the human being to generate exceptional health outcomes and authentic spiritual realization.
The Unique Self Recovery modules are currently being deployed and refined in the therapeutic process. Appropriate professional evaluation of the efficacy of the models is being conducted by experts in the recovery/treatment world.
Upon accumulation of sufficient clinical data, a book outlining the key principles of Unique Self Recovery theory and practice will be published.
Notes on Eros Volume 1-4 (Marc Gafni & Kristina Kincaid)
The book outlines the in depth relationship between the erotic and the sexual. The core premise of this book is that the sexual model the erotic but does not even begin to exhaust the erotic. The sexual holds the wisdom and models how to live in Eros in all of the non-sexual dimension of our lives. The book outlines ten major arenas in which the sexual models the erotic. They include, interiority, presence, yearning, wholeness, imagination, surrender, gifting, masculine and feminine, the experience of time, living for its own sake, and union. This is a new expanded version of the Mystery of Love Book with extensive primary source footnotes added.
Falling in Love with the Divine – with Sally Kempton
A former New York journalist who wrote extensively for the Village Voice, Esquire, New York Magazine, and The New York Times, she left her career in the early 1970s to study with her guru, Swami Muktananda.
In the 1980s, she became one of the key teachers in the Siddha Yoga tradition as well as the first editor of a magazine, Darshan, which aimed at finding the shared truths within different spiritual traditions.
Seven Levels of Sexing: The New Phenomenology of Sexuality (Marc Gafni & Kristina Kincaid)
This book organizes the original research by Kinsey and Masters & Johnson into an original framework which unfolds the phenomenology of sexing. The book is meant to address both a wide audience of practitioners in the mainstream of society as well as make a paradigm shifting contribution of the leading edge understanding of sexuality.
In contradistinction to the old religious systems which engage sexuality by prescription, World Spirituality engages sexuality though the phenomenological method of description.
However, and this difference is key, the difference is not merely anthropological, but a phenomenology with profound ethical implications.

Soul Prints (re-issue of the Soul Prints: Your Path to Fulfillment by Marc Gafni with primary source footnotes) & Dutch version with Chahat Corten.
The bestselling Soul Prints (Simon & Shuster, 2001) will be re-released by Integral Publishers with new editing which removes material that the author no longer stands by, provides original new material, as well as never-before-published primary source footnotes from the great traditions on the key realization of Soul Prints.
The author regards Soul Prints as essentially a popular version of Your Unique Self, the book which articulates Unique Self, an enlightenment tradition rooted in the Kabbalistic and Talmudic traditions.
Soul Prints is written, however, only partially within the enlightenment conversation. Primarily the book speaks to the mainstream American reader both churched and unchurched who operate out of an implicit set of theistic frameworks.
Soul Prints reaches a popular, mainstream audience. At the same time, the book contains material of value to scholars seeking to enrich their understanding of the context of Unique Self teaching.
Evolutionary KinshipTM: Authentic Relations in a Networked Age (Liza Braude-Glidden, MA, Baubo Ayelet–Scholar and Senior Teacher, Center for Integral Wisdom)
What does the world need that makes you come alive? This is one of my sacred questions. A question becomes sacred when it inspires a quest. I call my quest Evolutionary Kinship.
Ours is a radically social species. Human intelligence evolved through our interactive nature. Now in our era of technological disruption, it’s the ways we connect that show us our humanity. Some call our time The Age of Connection. Connection is key to where we go from here.
One of the key discernments of Unique Self Theory is between separateness and uniqueness. Unlike separateness, uniqueness is not an expression of alienation; uniqueness is the currency of connection. Unique Self Theory teaches that once you understand your uniqueness, grasping becomes purposeful action and resignation becomes activism. Evolutionary Kinship incites this activism and connects it to the global movement towards more just, sustainable and meaningful exchanges of value in business, personal, playful and spiritual life.
Unique Self Theory’s fourth experience of self, Evolutionary Self, locates our Unique Selves within a larger narrative of biological, personal, intimate, familial, communal, cultural, global, and cosmic evolution. As Unique Evolutionary Self, our present experience becomes ever more coherent with all our relations, those who came before us and those who follow after us. This coherence is the wellspring of authentic relationship. Through it the self-organizing power of our uniqueness to transform the whole becomes ever more powerful and ethical.
This first volume of Evolutionary Kinship weaves themes of entrepreneurship, social networking, inquiry, and myth-making. You are radically invited to contribute to the evolution of love as a unique local/global networker. You are radically invited to be a unique designer of networks of in emerging global culture.

Daily Meditations from the Holy of Holies: Daily Reflections on World Spirituality (Elizabeth Helen Bullock, Colleen Walker, & Marc Gafni)
This project collects Marc Gafni’s extensive body of teachings from audio sessions, private sessions, and personal interviews, and makes the material accessible to a wide audience. Some of these sources have never before been published. Collectively, they make important contributions to the theory and practice of Unique Self and other World Spirituality teachings. The book is organized as a series of 365 reflections, one teaching per page.
Unique Self Process (Marc Gafni & Jeff Hilliard).
The book will map the Dharma, and a sequence of processes and practices for individuals, that form a path through the Four Selves leading to Unique Self enlightenment.
The content and structure of this book is based on a small group retreat process which takes place over a weekend (at our Teaching Center, Shalom Mountain).
Integral Religion: The Dance of Certainty and Uncertainty (Marc Gafni, Claire Molinard & Sam Alexander)
In classical religion, faith is seen as certainty of doctrine and heresy is seen as being lost in doubt or uncertainty. In this paradigm shifting volume, Marc Gafni both reclaims uncertainty as a spiritual value of the highest order of consciousness while at the same time redefining the nature of religious certainty from “it is true” to “I am true.” Gafni unpacks and evolves the ancient traditions in which learning to dance in uncertainty is an expression of faith and holding the core certainty of one’s own being is the essence of realization.
Gafni unfolds two major genres which has been previously unnoticed as the core of these teaching. One is a series of stories from the sacred biblical text which all revolve the Hebrew word “maybe”. The second is what he terms the Judah archetype who emerges as a significant radical force in re-understanding the nature of faith, from the earliest Biblical until the latest Hasidic literature.
As he so often does, Gafni here plays the role of the ecstatic intellectual who reverentially receives the lineage teaching even as he carefully evolves it. This two volume book is based on two books published in Hebrew in 2002.
Their working titles are Integral Religion: Reclaiming Uncertainty as a Spiritual Value: Next Steps in Integral Religion and Integral Religion: Reclaiming our Certainties: On Obligation, Activism and Perennial Philosophy in an Evolutionary Context.

Styles of Loving: Monogamy, Polyamory, and Celebacy (Marc Gafni & Co-Author)
In this work we explore styles of loving including conventional monogamy, post-conventional possibilities, and other modes of loving. The distinctive features in terms of light and shadow of each style of loving are outlined.
No style is exclusively valorized or demonized, and a pluralism of genuine options for different modes of loving is presented to the reader as the cornerstone of a post-dogmatic yet ethically responsible World Spirituality.
One of the dimensions of this work will inquire as to how sexuality appears in the self-experience at different cognitive, emotional, and spiritual levels of consciousness.
